Maisie is a stunning 2-year-old Arabian Mau with a sleek white and brown coat, silky-soft fur, and a personality that fills every room. She’s a lively, energetic girl who loves to play and explore, and she absolutely thrives on attention from her favourite people. Once she gets to know you, Maisie is incredibly affectionate and enjoys plenty of fuss, cuddles, and one-to-one time. She’s clean and well-mannered in the home, with perfect litter tray habits and no history of accidents.
Maisie would really benefit from a home where she can safely enjoy the outdoors, as she loves getting fresh air and stretching her legs beyond her current small yard.
Maisie was born on a school compound in Saudi Arabia, where she became unusually well-socialised with people from an early age. She forms strong bonds once she trusts someone and becomes incredibly affectionate, loving cuddles, attention, and interactive play.
However, despite attempts to integrate her with other cats both abroad and in the UK, Maisie has shown that she is much happier as the only pet. She has displayed strong aggression towards other cats, even with gradual introductions, so she will need to be the sole feline in her new home.
She can be a little nervous around strangers and prefers quieter environments; she’s happiest with one or two people rather than busy households or frequent visitors.
She is naturally adventurous and absolutely loves the outdoors. Outside, Maisie is bold, confident, and curious – climbing walls, exploring her surroundings, and enjoying the freedom to investigate. Because of this, she will need access to a garden or secure outdoor space where she can safely explore and stay stimulated.
Indoors, Maisie is playful and energetic, especially in the mornings. She enjoys rough play with toys she can chew, playing directly with people, and tossing small toys around (her current favourite is a little mouse toy). She also loves cat trees she can climb and perch on. After she’s worn herself out, she’s very affectionate and enjoys cuddles, being picked up, and gentle strokes around her shoulders.
Maisie is very clean with excellent litter tray habits. She currently uses wood pellet litter but has also happily used Catsan and paper pellets with no issues. A covered litter tray is recommended though as her enthusiastic digging and tidying can send litter flying!
She’s generally not fussy with food and happily eats both wet and dry food. While she particularly enjoys higher-end foods like Sheba and Royal Canin, she is equally content with Whiskas or Felix. She absolutely loves Dreamies treats.
Maisie needs:
Although Maisie lived around other cats when younger, she has shown ongoing aggression towards cats in the home despite careful introductions and attempts to help her socialise. She is happiest when she has her person all to herself and would truly flourish in a one-cat-only household.
She can initially be nervous around strangers and larger groups of people, but once she trusts you, she is loyal, affectionate, playful, and full of character.
Maisie spends her afternoons happily snoozing after a busy morning of activity. She currently loves sleeping on her radiator bed, the sofa, or at the top of her cat tree where she can survey her kingdom.
Maisie is microchipped, spayed, and fully up to date with vaccinations. She has no known health issues. As an Arabian Mau, she is highly energetic, intelligent, and famously talkative, so she thrives best with owners who can commit to her specific physical and mental needs. We recommend researching the breed before applying.
Maisie is offered for adoption on a direct home-to-home basis, and the successful adopter will need to collect from the BL9 area of Bury.
