Domestic Short Hair·14 years, 2 months·♀ Female·Black┊Solid
Meg is a seasoned lady of 14 years and 2 months, a Domestic Short Hair who came to the shelter through no fault of her own. She's a cat with plenty of purr-sonality to share, proving that age is just a number. At first, she can be quite shy and nervous, but with patience and kindness, her affectionate side begins to show. After some time, she becomes more friendly and gains confidence, revealing herself as a loving, friendly, and surprisingly outgoing companion. Meg needs settling in and would prefer to live with adults and children 13 years and over as she can be nervous and frightened at the beginning. A calm and patient household is important as she takes a while to find her footing.
In her previous home, she tended to just potter in the garden, not interested in exploring further. Meg will need both indoor and outdoor access. In the home, she will need plenty of areas to hide away when she wants to and a quiet settling in room. She will need access to a private garden, ideally without other visiting cats.
Meg has current medical concerns, namely hyperthyroidism (she has had unilateral thyroidectomy), adverse reaction to medication, and a blocked tear duct, that will require consideration before she is rehomed. Our rehoming team will be able to give you further information if you apply to rehome this pet and you are a successful match. We would also advise that any medical concern, be that historic or ongoing, is discussed with your own vet prior to any book out appointment. Due to the nature of the medical concern, a vet call with one of our onsite vets will be required before the pet goes home.
If you think you could be the one to help this golden girl enjoy her well deserved cat-naps, please apply to rehome Meg. Our team will guide you through the process, including the necessary vet call, to ensure she finds the perfect forever home.
