Sable has the softest fur and sweetest nature, and she just wants to find a loving home with someone who will let her find her feet. This gentle soul enjoys her fuss and loves to rub against you. She will often come to say hello and is keen to make friends. She can be a little worried by loud noises, so she would prefer a quiet home where she can get to know you and really feel safe and secure. Once she trusts you, you'll get extra cuddles!
Sable arrived at Mayhew at the start of April after her previous owner was struggling to care for her long term. She has been behaviorally assessed by our cattery staff and given any medical treatment required by our veterinary team. All cats leave our care microchipped, neutered, and have been given flea and worming treatment as well as any vaccinations (at least first). Lastly, every cat adopted from us will also go home with 4 weeks free pet insurance.
During Sable's neutering surgery, the ovary fragmented during removal, which can occasionally happen due to the delicate nature of the tissue. As a result, there is a small risk that a tiny piece of ovarian tissue may remain (known as an ovarian remnant). If ovarian tissue remains, it can continue to produce hormones and may result in the cat showing signs of coming into season (heat) in the future. If you see any signs of this, Mayhew can do further tests to determine any next steps if needed. She is fit and healthy, and this is purely a precautionary note to keep an eye on things as she settles in her new home.
