Toffee is a sweet little kitten who is full of beans and looking for a fun-loving home prepared to match her energy. She came into our care at just 5 weeks old after her owner had a change in circumstances. Being a single kitten from such a young age, she’s very used to focusing her attention on people rather than other kittens. She’s super confident, but can get a little over-excited sometimes and give a few nips – she needs a family who can teach her that toys are the best thing to play with, not feet! This bouncy girl would prefer a more grown-up home that understands she’s a little girl with big feelings and is ready to keep her entertained.
Toffee arrived at Mayhew at the end of April. She has been behaviourally assessed by our cattery staff and given any medical treatment required by our veterinary team. All cats leave our care microchipped, neutered, and have been given flea and worming treatment as well as any vaccinations (at least first). Plus, every cat adopted from us goes home with 4 weeks free pet insurance.
Toffee is a fun-loving, confident little girl that needs a lot of play time. She does like small amounts of affection and is a proper little purr-ball, but quickly becomes frustrated if she feels restrained. Because she was separated from her mum and siblings when she was far too young, she never learned “kitten etiquette” – so she needs patience and to learn to enjoy love as well as play. She has her moments when she enjoys climbing up and sitting on your shoulder when she’s sleepy after all the play, but she’s definitely full of beans most of the time! She is a master of zoomies and will always take the chance to speed up and down with her toys in her mouth! She loves company and is a huge social eater who will purr like a motor when she is next to you whilst having her food.
Toffee is known to nip and bite when over-excited, and we are working on redirecting her attention onto toys. Potential adopters should be prepared to continue this training. She has been medically treated, microchipped, neutered, vaccinated, and treated for fleas and worms. She comes with 4 weeks free pet insurance.
