Meet Winnie, also known as Her Royal Highness Lady Winnie of Sassington. A cat with presence, personality, and very clear expectations of how life should be run.
Winnie did not quietly settle into rescue life. She made an entrance, full of sass and strong opinions, and while she has softened over time, she is still very much a cat who likes things her way. With patience and understanding, she has blossomed into a calmer girl, but her playful, spirited nature is always just beneath the surface.
Winnie is not a hands-on, cuddly cat. She does not enjoy being picked up and will make her feelings known if her boundaries are ignored. That said, once she trusts you, she does enjoy gentle interaction. She particularly loves head strokes and will happily initiate a headbutt session when she is in the mood. On rare occasions, she may even treat you to a little purr, which is all the more special for its rarity.
We are a foster-based charity, so each cat lives in a home environment before adoption. This helps us see how they cope with things like children, other cats, and dogs. Because we don't always know a cat's full history, our guidance is based on what we've observed in foster care. Our priority is always to match each cat with the home where they'll feel safe, settled, and happy.
