Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi. Now we've got that out of our system, it's time to introduce you to a cat who hails from a land down under (well, metaphorically speaking). This handsome boy is all about the fuss and cuddles, and he's quite intent on monopolising your affections. He will usually come over to say hello and then promptly claim a spot on your lap, because why settle for a simple greeting when you can have a full on snuggle session?
He's a master of the stonking head butt, a feline art form that says 'I love you' in the most enthusiastic way possible. Aussie also has a knack for invading your personal space, but only because he wants to be involved in all the action. Who needs boundaries when you have this much charisma? He does have a cheeky side where he can get a bit overexcited and nibble, but when you have love to give, it comes out in all forms. He's just expressing his affection with a little extra zest.
Aussie arrived at Mayhew at the end of February after he was found as a stray. He has been behaviourally assessed by our cattery staff and given any medical treatment required by our veterinary team. All cats leave our care microchipped, neutered, and have been given flea and worming treatment as well as any vaccinations (at least first). Every cat adopted from us will also go home with 4 weeks free pet insurance.
On examination, we found that Aussie has a heart murmur. This has been graded 2 out of 6 by our vets, which just means that additional sounds were heard as well as the usual lub dub sound of the heart when the vet listened to his chest. Heart murmurs in cats should be monitored to make sure they don't get any worse, but for now, it needs no treatment. He also had some additional worming and a special food diet to help with an upset stomach. Things are all back to normal now, and he just needs a loving place to call home.
If you think you could be his purr fect match, come meet this cuddle bug in person. He's waiting to turn your lap into his new favorite throne.
