Shere Khan is a gorgeous three-year-old boy with a story that tugs at the heartstrings. Found abandoned in a box on the street, he arrived at Mayhew at the beginning of March, leaving us with little background but a clear mission: to find him a home where he can truly thrive. After a thorough behavioural assessment by our cattery staff and any necessary medical treatment from our veterinary team, we've learned that Shere Khan is a bit of a nervous soul around people, preferring to have his own space. He spends most of his time watching the world go by, like a regal observer from a hidden perch, but don't be fooled—when he feels confident, he can be quite the explorer, ready to claim his territory with quiet curiosity.
Based on his behaviour, we believe Shere Khan would be best suited to a working cat home, where he can embrace his independent spirit. He'll need a safe space to rest and recharge, away from the hustle and bustle, and he'd absolutely adore lots of outdoor space to explore and be his own cat. If you're someone who appreciates a feline with a touch of mystery and a desire for autonomy, keep reading to see if you can be his purr-fect match.
Shere Khan has been given any required medical treatment by our veterinary team. All cats from Mayhew leave our care microchipped, neutered, and treated for fleas and worms, with at least their first vaccinations administered. He will also go home with four weeks of free pet insurance, giving you peace of mind as he settles into his new kingdom.
Shere Khan is ready to find his fur-ever home! As a working cat, he's looking for an alternative setting that prioritizes outdoor access and personal space. If you think you can provide the perfect balance of safety and freedom for this majestic boy, reach out to Mayhew to arrange a viewing and discuss how to welcome him into your life.
